Magic Cost: Equal to the cost of the attack blocked.

Duration: Duration of the attack blocked

Requirements: Mastery of Dark Magic

Elemental Alignment: Dark

Class: Defense

Description: When activated, ribbons of the same material as Riku's Dark Mode suit issue out from thin air, creating a dense, heavy shield, which can deform around objects that impact it. It only activates, however, in response to attacks that are at least PARTIALLY frontal. (Meaning Riku has to see at least PART of the attack to block it.)

History: Dark Shield is an ability Riku gained after the explosion of Kingdom Hearts purged Ansem's presence from his body. The ability itself is used to stop enemy attacks, and isn't useful for much else (Although it can be deployed against environmental hazards). Originally a manifestation of Dark Energy, the fact that the shield is now generated from the same material as the Dark Mode suit is one of the initial signs that something is changing, where Riku's power is concerned...

*rubs temples* Alright, so............ Is this ONLY magic protection, since your matching magic cost to block attacks?

Well, it'll certainly work against magic.

I see no reason why this wouldn't work against physical attacks, though.

That's fine, just specify the intensity of physical damage it can withstand.... Light damage? Medium damage?

There's a wide range of weapons any shield can come across, so keep that in mind too.
