A Rather Confused Nobody

Roxas took another bite of his ice cream and licked his lips. Such a bitter sweet taste slid down his throat. He leaned his head against the clock and let out a deep sigh. "Xion...I wish I knew the answers...but I don't. I still don't know what's real and what's just a dream...I'm just living for the moment, everything can change in a split second. I just wish I could pause time and stay like this with you...and axel...forever." He sunk his teeth into the sea salt ice cream once more before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a large, blue marble that he had obtained from the Struggle Trophy after winning the tournament. Roxas held it up to the sun, it still glimmered the same as he recalled.

He then picked up on Axel saying something about going somewhere. He turned his head, but only slightly. "An adventure sounds like fun. We could go to Sunset Horizons and check out some of the "wonders" of Twilight Town, or the old Mansion." Roxas nudged Xion as Axel went down the stairs. Next Roxas stood up, disposing of his sea salt ice cream stick before leaping off of the ledge of the clock tower. For a moment he seemed to levitate in mid-air, frozen in time, yet soon he found himself spiralling towards the earth below. He flipped frontwards, landing on his feet in the main courtyard in front of the train station. Roxas turned around and looked up at Xion with a smile before winking at her, "Jump Xion, I'll catch you." He then extended his arms, prepared to catch her.

Xion eyes widened then she nodded before stepping back and jumping "what the hell was i thinking" she said as she fell. She waited for the impact and closed her eyes.

(Hey, I'm Roxas, using the stairs is waaaayyyy overrated lol)

Roxas watched in awe as Xion elegantly fell. She seemed to soar down to him gracefully. As they collided together, Roxas successfully embraced her in his arms, holding her up and not allowing her to fall to the hardened ground below. His blue eyes shimmered as he looked upon her face. "That wasn't so bad huh?"

Xion had her eyes shut tight she opened one of them. "i..uhh...." She was still surprised that Roxas jumped off the clock tower...and she followed ! She nodded " y-yea i guess so... so were to ?" her feet touched the ground. She looked around for Axel.

The quiet smack of his black boots followed down the stairs into the main part of the train station. As he reached the bottom he looked back up, seeing if Roxas and Xion were following him. A sigh escaped his lips as he realized they were nowhere in sight. He shrugged and walked out the main doors into the square, planning to call them down. His jaw fell open as he saw the sight before him.

Roxas was standing on the ground a mere ten feet in front of him with Xion falling from above to land in his arms. Axel just stared at the two as Roxas caught her and put her back on her feet again. A small chuckle formed in Axel's chest and came forth from his mouth. His look of surprise turned to a grin of joy and he started clapping loudly, laughing at the two while he did so."Bravo. Really did not expect you two to beat me to the bottom."

His black gloved hand moved to his hair and ruffled it up a bit. Afterwards he walked up beside Roxas and Xion, just looking at them. He just barely heard Xion say where to and he just shrugged and looked at Roxas. It was up to the younger man to choose where they went.

Roxas blushed and dusted himself off a bit as Axel began to clap. He looked at Xion and laughed. "Well I had to make things interesting.." The Guardian then turned around and looked around. He walked to the ledge of the elevated courtyard and gazed out to see what looked interesting. Something drew his attention east, deep within the dark blanket of the forest. There he could see the top of the old Mansion. So gloomy yet inviting at the same time. It's presense lingered about Twilight Town with elegance. Roxas turned around after making up his mind. "What about the old Mansion?...let's start our adventure there and see where that takes us." He then awaited a response from Xion and Axel.

Xion giggles a bit as she saw Roxas blush "I have to admit that was fun even though it scared me a bit " She looked back over at Roxas then at Axel "the old mansion sounds great. I herd around the Town that there's a girl that lives in there. she bushes past the curtains every now and then. I bet if we go there we may be able to see it for ourselves" Xion smiled and looked at them both.

Axel nodded at the idea of going to the Old Mansion. It had been quite awhile since he had been down to that place. The last time he was there he had fought Roxas and lost. A sigh escaped his lips as he started walking, making his way out of the plaza into Market Street. The sloping hills that made up the street made for a relaxed walk down but when you wanted to walk up the hill there was no way you could go without losing your breath.

The people that walked by him and waved casually at the man. Axel raised his hand in return, waving back. His feet carried him past many different people. Men and women stood on the side of the road, talking about their dates the night before and even arguing over who would make dinner that night. Axel grin and kept walking, running his eyes over the many shops that dotted the buildings beside him. There were an assortment of shops, the most note worthy being the item and weapon shop. Axel walked right by them, only looking over and admiring the swords and other weapons that rested behind the counter.

Market street ended as Axel walked out into Tram Common, walking quickly through the wide open area. Within in minutes he was already at the hole in the wall and through into the woods. Darkness surrounded him immediatley as he stepped though the hole. Everything went quiet and only the sounds of birds and small animals could be heard. Nothing moved within sight. Axel liked it better like this. There was nothing to bother him or hassle him in any way. A sigh of content exited his mouth and he leaned against the nearest tree, waiting for the other two to catch up.

Xion trailed behind looking at all the people who just kept on walking. "the town is so calm today. not many heartless out." She kept walking til she followed Axel into the woods. A Quick memory of her and Axel fighting was here. SHe shook her head and kept on walking.

Roxas perked up as Xion spoke about the mysterious girl that was said to occupy the Old Mansion. "Whoa, sounds scary, but let's go!" He then turned and followed closely behind Axel, waving at a couple of familiar people that passed by on their way.

Roxas couldn't help but to smile uncontrollably. For the first time in a long time he was happy once again. Though he was in fact a Nobody, for some odd and unexplainable reason, he could still feel some emotions such as happiness, or sadness...even love.

As they passed through the Tram Common Roxas gazed up at the sun , it was the perfect day for this kind of adventure. It wasn't long before he was going through the hole in the wall and continued on the pathway through the forest that would lead them to the Mansion. The trees had an eery feel about them , they were dark and gloomy, full, barely allowing any sunlight to pass through their leaves and branches. He turned back to Xion with a whisper, "You scared?"

The small bits of sunlight that broke through the top of the trees created small puddles of light on the ground. Axel walked through each of them, feeling the warmth seep into his bones. A smile spread across his lips as he followed close behind Roxas and Xion. In the distance the Old Mansion loomed over head, standing as a constant guardian of the forest.

Sunlight caused Axel to blink twice as he stepped out of the darkness. The brightness blinded him for a few seconds until his eyes adjusted. He looked around, seeing Roxas whispering to Xion. A small chuckle escaped his mouth as he walked past them and stopped at the locked gate. Large chains wrapped around it. An overly large lock connected them all in the center, keeping anyone from getting in. Moss and vines grew along the wall to both sides of him.

Axel reached his hand out, touching the lock. Although it had probaly been there for many years it was still as strong as ever. It would take a strong blow to break through the thick metal. Axel stepped back and looked up at one of the windows. The curtains moved gently, swaying from side to side. Axel raised his eyebrow in confusion before realizing that there was probaly a draft somewhere in the place. It was expected in somewhere as old as this. Turning away, he looked back at Roxas and Xion, grinning.

"I don't think there's a girl up there. It seems they mistook the curtains blowing for a girl." Axel laughed and pointed out the curtains swaying in the draft. If there had been a girl there he hadn't seen her. A though came over him as he stopped laughing and stared at Roxas. "Think we can get in?"

She shook her head and rolled her eyes "nope im not scared are you?" She smirked.Xion glared at the lock and took a step back summoning her keyblade..." Axel , Roxas wanna give me a hand? Aim for the lock." She knew with all three of them going at the lock it was bound to break. She waited for them to respond.

Roxas shook his head and nudged Xion, "Me scared? HA! Never!" He then summoned his Oblivion and Oathkeeper keyblades and performed a backflip to gain a bit of distance from the old, rusted gate. Overhead dark clouds began to form, suddenly a clash of thunder and lightning rang out throughout the skies. Soon the trechorous sounds of a nearby storm were followed by heavy raindrops that fell as tears from the eyes of the heavens. Roxas knew they had to act quickly or be stuck out in the storm, miles away from any real shelter...miles away from safety. The storm was sure to bring harmful nobodies and heartless, yet he knew that they could all carry their own. He then crossed his keyblades to form an "X" shape, pointed vertically towards the clouds. Particles of darkness and particles of light began to swirl around the tips, soon coming together to form a ball or aura of some sort. He then thrusted the keyblades downwards, towards the lock in hopes that he might aid Xion and Axel so that they may get into the mansion to seek shelter from the storm.

Xion twirled her keyblade and point straight ahead at the Keyhole of the gate the same happened and the gate's lock shattered. Xion rushed forward and kicked the gate door open. " Come on!" She shouted as the gate doors flung open. She pulled her hood over head as the rain the rain started to pour. Xion loved the rain but hated being in it. Love and Hate two emotions she thought she would never feel. Now all of them rushing around her at once.As they entered the Mansion Xion got colder as the air rushed past her when the doors opened. She sat near the door and Panted bit then took off her hood. "great...im soaked in water...and now im cold." She laughs as she took off her cloak and reviled that she was wearing a Tan t-shirt and the same color skirt and that she somehow had a birth mark of her organization Number on her arm.

Thunder and lighting crashed above, announcing the presence of a sinister storm. Axel groaned and started running towards the gate as Xion unlocked the lock and kicked it open. His feet carried him quickly through the courtyard. Bushes lined both sides of the path he traveled on. The grass below his feet crumpled as his black boots crushed it into the dirt. Rain started to pour down before he reached the front door, soaking his hair and cloak. The fiery red hair he was sporting plastered downed to the top of his head, the spikes disappearing to be replaced by just a flat, red mess. Axel pulled his hood up as he got up under an overhang right by the door and watched the rain fall down to earth.

The door behind him creaked slightly from the booming of the thunder. He turned around and grabbed the big handle that adorned the door. With a quick tug he pulled it wide open and looked inside. Nothing had changed at all since the last time he was there. The same glass case sat in the center of the room and an assortment of broken tables littered the room. His footsteps echoed as he walked through the door and stopped in center of the room. Two sets of stairs led up to a landing on his left and right. Down the center of where the stairs started were sliding glass doors that led out into the back yard. Axel stared at it all in wonder, pondering how he hadn't payed attention to it all when he was here the last time.

Dust flitted through the air as he walked slowly up the stairs. He stopped in the center of the landing and looked down at the front door. He couldn't see Roxas and Xion yet but he knew they were down there somewhere. It wasn't his style to just leave the two behind but his curiousity was getting the better of him. There were two doors on the second floor he could go in; one was the room that he had seen the curtain blowing in, the room that Namine had been in the last time he was here. The other one led to a library that was above a secret area where DiZ had stationed himself. It was also the place where he and Roxas had fought the last time. Axel shook his head and walked towards the library. There was no point in going in Namine's room. All he would find in there were her drawings and have to deal with all the white.

The hinges on the library door creaked as Axel pushed it open. Bookshelves lined the wall directly to his left. In the center of the room stood a table that had three images on it. Axel walked along the edge of the bookshelf, looking at the many different books along the shelf. There was really no reason for him to go under the library into the hidden area, so he didn't. Instead he walked back out of the library, bored with its contents and went back downstairs. His hair had dried by now so he pulled his hood off and stuck his hand up to his hair, feeling the spikes. He smiled as he felt how dry it was. After being wet like that it was now even spikier than before. Axel just grinned and walked to the middle of the room. He took a seat against the table holding the glass container and just watched the door, waiting for Roxas and Xion to come inside.

Roxas rushed forward, following closely behind Xion and Axel. The rain fell upon them as daggers hitting them harder and harder with each step as if it were warning them not to enter the abandoned mansion, or so it was believed to be abandoned. As they all approached the doors, they were all apparently soaked from the storm. As soon as Roxas walked through the front doors he unzipped his cloak and removed it, placing it on the jacket rack that was placed nearby. Underneath he had on no shirt, yet revealed his physique and a pair of long, black pants. He continued to travel into the main room, yet quickly fell to his knees and gripped his head as if he were going through a severe amount of pain. It wasn't long before he collapsed completely and became unconscious.

Roxas opened his eyes and could see nothing. He sat up to see that he was no longer in the mansion yet in a large field shrouded in a thick mist. As he arose to his feet he looked all around for Xion and Axel, but he could not seem to find them, or anything that looked familiar for that matter. He began to trek through the field, trying to find out where he might be. Roxas had only taken a few steps when his right foot collided with something hard that caused him to lose his balance and fall once again. He rolled over to see what he had tripped over and his eyes widened with terror...it was a tomb stone with the name..."Roxas" engraved into its stone. He stood up and walked backwards, still captivated by what he had just seen. He tried to clear his head, but he was terrified, what could that mean?...was this real?...

Roxas awoke on the floor of the mansion, in front of the lit fireplace. He wiped the sweat that had beaded up on his forehead. Thankfully it had all been a dream...more like a nightmare...He looked around, where was Xion? and Axel?...had they noticed?...

A warm sensation with a tinge of pain began to roll throughout his skull causing him to lay back down once again and grip his head. What was going on?

Xion looked over at Roxas who had fallen asleep and started to toss and turn "Roxas? " She looked over at him and sat near him "Are you Okay?" She seemed concerned. After checking on him she went off to explore she went off up the stairs. When she reached the top she saw a long hallway The thunder cracked loudly but she kept on moving. When she reached the end of the hallway she spotted a room with a dim light coming from under the door. Xion stepped forward and opened the door a bright light seemed to blind her a bit . As her vision returned to normal She was in a white room there were drawings all over the place. In front of an empty chair sat a long table , on the table was a sketch book. Xion picked it up and turns the pages she paced as she looked at it "Enjoying the Pictures? When Xion looked back there sat Namine. She jumped. Nice to see you again ...Xion. . Xion was confused did she know this girl. "Um.. yes the pictures are very nice." Xion your memories are coming back to you...aren't they? His memories are no longer with you ad somehow in the realm of darkness you found yourself a heart..and here you are. "His memories?".....

A few moments past but time seemed to stop. Namine explained to Xion what happened. How she came to be and how she vanished. Namine told her how she crystallized and found a heart , but it was only to help her Friends. Namine nodded Yes. you were apart of Sora. Now you are your own person.. Xion closed the drawing book and Namine seemed to disappear. It seemed like no time at all past. She walked back down the stair st see Axel and Roxas still sitting there when she had left. One memory after the next began to flood her head she griped her head and fell to her knees. "nyeh.....!"

Roxas simply nodded at Xion, never opening his eyes as she made sure that he would be alright. All of a sudden he began having flashbacks, yet not of his own life, but of Sora's. He could see everything just as he were literally, and physically standing there, going through what Sora had gone through. It started off with Sora, Kairi and Riku on the island and with the flash of light he was having visions of his creation, his life with Hayner and the gang, the struggle tournament, falling off of the clock tower, and then he began to remember all of the times he had spent with Xion and Axel. Memories that he never knew that he had experienced filled his mind. Such events caused a migrane to form in his temples, but the pain didn't phase Roxas, he slowly sat up after the eruption of thoughts and visions ended only to see Xion fall to her knees. Something was obviously happening to them both, but why? Did it have something to do with the mansion? What had they done to cause this?

Roxas arose to his feet, attempting to catch his breath before walking over to Xion. He placed his right hand on her shoulder and knelt down beside her. "Are you alright Xi..?"

Axel watched the events unfold around him. First Roxas fell to the ground, seeminly out cold. Axel rushed over to him and knelt by his side, looking him over to make sure there were no injuries. After realizing his friend was okay he turned his attention to Xion. She was on her knees, holding her head. Axel ran over and stared her in the eyes. There was a sort of wildness behind them. Something abnormal was going on here. Axel needed to find out what was going on if it was the last thing he did.

"Roxas, Xion, mind explaining what's going on?"

Xion couldn't speak the memories seemed to rush one after another. "Make it stop..........." She griped her head tighter and then..it happened. Something seemed to snap in her head. Xion passed out. She lied there..lifeless or so she seemed. In her mind she was standing in the realm of Darkness. Standing in front of her was Namine, "Who are you..." She asked. Namine simply smiled at her. In her sleep she said a name , very faint she hadn't even known she said it. In her dream she was asking Namine what was going on. but in the mansion she said a name " Sora..........................." She was out cold.

Roxas nodded, letting Axel know that he was alright. He then gazed over to Xion just in time to notice her collapse on the cold, wooden floor of the mansion. Had the same thing happened to her? Had she recieved all of her long forgotten memories?...

He then turned to Axel with a rather worried expression upon his face. "Something strange is going on here...the pain is starting to come back in my head....ahhh...."


(It's after two o'clock in the morning here, I've been going all day...tired doesn't even begin to explain how I feel right now so forgive me if this post is a bit wth? lol.

Both of his friends seemed to be having problems in this place. Axel didn't know what was going on or how this was happening to both of them at the same time. All he knew was that he had to get them out of there and fast. If not there was the high probability that one of them could end up seriously injured. Axel cleared his head and reacted purely on instinct. Moving quickly he cleared the gap between him and Xion, picking her up in his arms and running out the front door and laying her gently under the overhang. Without a second though he rushed back in and grabbed Roxas, laying him right beside Xion. His hand pushed the door shut and he sat down beside both of them, looking out over the yard.

The rain had slowly subsided, leaving behind only a small dirzzle. Grass lay flattened against the ground from the heavy down pour and the limbs of the trees were slightly bent over from all the water pounding onto them. Axel leaned his head back against the wall as the birds started chirping once again. The smell of fresh rain feeled the air. Axel took a deep breath, sucking in all the sweet, fresh air. His eyes traveled from the blue sky that was coming out under the clouds to the forms of Roxas and Xion. They both were still laying there.

"Are you guys okay?"

Xion heard a familiar voice : "Axel......" She opened her eyes. to see him standing near her. "What happened.." The pain in her head was quickly fading, Xion sat up against the railing of the over hang and looked up into the sky. Memories slowed in her head and a few things were forgotten as soon as she was outside of the door. She remember the Organization XIII but doesn't remember What happened to Herself and Axel.

As ion sat up she stuck her hand out of the over hang underneath. The rain lightly pated her hand . She turned her head to Roxas " Are you alright?" she asked before her eyed widened. "You look so much like him." Of course Xion was talking about Sora.

Roxas slowly opened his crystal blue eyes. He hesitated, but then sat up and turned his attention first to Axel. He nodded for he could not muster the words to say to thank him for bringing him out of the house. The Guardian then turned to Xion, yet at first he looked upon a girl with short, red hair and greenish/blue eyes, she smiled and tilted her head and giggled a bit. Roxas shook his head and looked once again to see only Xion, one of his best friends right beside him. He studdered a bit before he was able to respond. "I-...I-i....I don't know...are you okay?" He heard her remark about him looking like "him". It confused him, yet he asked not a question about it. If she desired to explain it was her business to tell, if not , he shouldn't pester her about it.

Axel turned his head and looked at both of them as they spoke. Nothing they said made any sense to him so he just went back to staring at the swaying trees and the green grass. Birds flew over head all around them, circling them and some even landing near them and chirping constantly. Axel raised his hand out and let one of the unafraid birds hop onto his index finger. With his other hand he petted it gently with one finger, smiling as he did so. Still petting the bird he stood up and knelt down beside Roxas and Xion.

"How you two feeling?" He allowed the bird to fly away as he spoke and he watched it join its family up in the air. A grin crossed his lips and then disappeared as worry spread across his face. Both Xion and Roxas looked they had seen a ghost or something. He shook his head and waited for them to answer him.
