The Eve of Departure (open)

Neverland was normally a happy place...usually it was filled with laughter, joy, peace...yet there was a vengeful feel in the air upon the eve of this day. Roxas...the nobody...had just finished a slow stroll throughout the jungle region. There was a light rain falling down from the heavens, slowly dripping through the treetops and making the ground rather moist.

"Great..." the nobody said as he came to a clearing in the jungle only to find himself at the edge of a cliff.

The view was quite remarkable, it was directly facing a waterfall that cascaded down into a rather large pond. Roxas paused, breathless for a moment as his eyes traveled amongst the nearby horizon.

Roxas then sat upon the cliff, dangling his legs. From his pack he brought out a container of water, taking a sip he sighed in relief. He didn't know what would come of this day, yet perhaps it wouldn't all be bad...only time would tell.

With the night growing in the young nobody found herself walking to the same clearing. Her smiled widened, she recognized that spiky hair anywhere. She ran over, simply sitting next to him, not saying a word. From her coat, she pulled out an Ice cream bar, for some reason she'd brought along two. Force of habit. Not like it was a bad one.

There was a warm feel that embraced the young nobody as Xion sat next to him. Her presence was all he needed...it was more than enough to sooth his battered soul.

He slowly allowed a smile to form upon his lips as he grasped the ice cream bar. It seemed that in all their memories, there was the same sea salt ice cream...such a simple thing, yet it meant so much.

He continued to gaze out at the horizon as his lips met the salty ice cream. Perhaps this day wasn't such a waste after all...but only time would tell. For the moment, he was with the person that meant most to him with a glorious view, a soothing breeze, what more could he ask for?
