What happens after midnight...(RPG OPEN)

The moon slowly cascaded through the midnight skies as the stars flashed their praises to the heavens above. The world was quiet...almost as silent as the grave. All that was noticeably audible was the wind kicking up distant leaves.

A dark figure loomed down the pathway leading into the courtyard. It was Roxas, though none could recognize him as such as a result of his Organization XIII cloak shrouding his entire body, the hood erect to hide his face.

As he approached the steps, he paused, but only for a brief moment before carrying on. It was as if someone else was watching, possibly someone inside the castle, yet he wouldn't know for sure until he crossed the threshold.

The doors were heavy, hard to open, yet the Nobody was able to convince them of allowing him to pass. Once inside, the doors slammed loudly behind him. He didn't budge from the jolt it cause, he merely stood as still as the statues that embraced the walls.

The tile floor was old, dirty, oddly shaped and colored. The pillars that held up the second floor weren't any better off either. Though the castle looked a bit aged, there was still something mystique about it...something elegant and beautiful even.

Behind all of the elder beauty, there was a great darkness hanging in the room. That's what Roxas had come here to find.

Her foot steps echoed the corridors of the castel, hearing another pair in the castle was unusal. Cion had figured this place was abaondoned, her organixation XII Coat's hood covered the top half of her Face, leaving her mouth exposed. a Soft gasp escaped her lips as a rush of cold air blew past her, as If someone walked by.

She turned. Nothing there, she kept on. Walking forward quietly up the stairs in the Westward wing. There was something alluring about this place. She couldn't quite put her finger on it. But it drew her near.

In the farther End of the corridor, Xion spotted a door. Her curiosity peeked and she stepped forward, placing her hand n the lock tracing it gently before pressing her hand forward. The door opened with a loud creek.

The slipped through the small opening in the door to find a small room. With another door inside. Xion spoke quietly.

"A Storage Room.....? No. There's something more Here..

Along the ling of the balcony in the room, there where dressers and draws piled up , leading higher. she walked inside and stood in front of the lower floors door. The imprints on the door made it seem as if, there use to be something there.

Xion hesitates to step for ward to open the door, and Stops.

"Something is wrong here..."

Shade was completely unfamiliar with this place, but she suspected what lured her here. It reminded her of a memory... so long ago. What she remembered wasn't dark about it though like this place, but it was abandoned, with an eerie feel, just like this castle.

Still, what brought her here, she still didn't know. But if it was one thing Shade learned from these multitude of realms, you had no choice but to go along with the flow of things. There was no such thing as one's sense of control when it cames to the natural workings of these worlds. So she took to the grand staircase of the entrace, with her steel hues carefully scanning her surroundings for any sign of life.... or otherwise.

Throughout the night, during her silent search through the castle, Shade found no sign as to what brought her here, and she was starting to grow irritated. Then she heard the rustling sounds of movement on the first floor as she stood at the balcony on the second floor. Keeping a stealth approach, Shade kept to the darkest of shadows as she carefully crept down the staircase to follow the movement she barely caught by the corner of her eye. Once behind the figure, she couldn't make any form of identification, save for the fact the cloaked individual was much taller than she was.

With her sword in hand, she lifted the blade just a few feet from the ground, but aimed at the stranger's back, should they move or turn about too quickly in attempts to strike her. She kept her voice low and even, so not to startle the figure too much, and not to sound like a outright threat. "Keep very slow there, friend. I just need a little information as to where I am at the moment, and it seems to be you're my only guide in this place..."

As Shade's words fell upon the cloaked one's ears, chills ran down his spine. He continued walking for a mere three steps. He then stopped, his head turned slightly to the right. All that would be visible would be his pale lips as they softly began to utter a response.."You have found your way into the beast's lair...best of luck to you..."

After his words had reached Shade's ear, his head turned back towards the staircase. Roxas took to the stairs with a gentle walk, leading into a long halfway. He wasn't quite sure which way to turn at this point, thus leading to his hesitation while he stood on the top step. In the distance, he could hear another set of footsteps, yet he couldn't quite tell which direction they were coming from.

Xion stopped inside the front of the door where ThreshHolder. The heartless that once held the doors tightly closed once where upon hearing footsteps that where not her own. She stayed silent in the room, But kept her Keyblade tight at hand if anything where to threaten her safety

She stood there, the grip on her keyblade tight. Not making a single sound. Her breath grew faint, as she tried to locate how close, or how far the second pair of footsteps where.

"Looks like I'm not alone here."

Roxas closed his eyes, honing in on every creak he heard, every bit of wind that passed by in the still hallways. With his eyes still closed, he began walking in the direction of the source. It wasn't long before he was close enough to open his eyes and follow the sound openly.

For the moment his keyblades stayed at the ready, yet he refused to summon them just yet. He would first assess what he was up against.

As he rounded the next corner he saw another cloaked figure...this figure was rather familiar...holding a similar keyblade to the ones that Roxas himself wielded.

"Xion?..." he questioned softly as he slowly inched his way closer to the cloaked one.

Xion Kept her ground only letting her guard slip for a moment to notice Someone saying her name. She blinked before recognizing the voice and stepping forward.

The saw him round the corner and continues to step forward. Her Keyblade still summoned.

"Roxas...? Is that you...?"

She said in a low tone. Only loud enough for him to hear. She Hesitantly lowered her guard.

The cloaked figure approached Xion at the same slow, eery pace before answering. With eyes flashing red, a response was spoken..."Roxas isn't here...try again later!" the figure screamed before fire erupted from its mouth, spewing out random heartless onto the walls and the floor.

The dark one then grew to be eight feet tall, fangs flashing within the dull light...whatever it was, it didn't look friendly.

(Back in Roxas' position)

"Xion?..." he had questioned as he thought he saw her...yet as he drew closer he noticed that it was merely a cloak hanging upon a coat rack.

He continued to walk down the long corridor...it seemed to lead nowhere...surely he wasn't lost already.

Peeking around each corner led him nowhere, there was nothing to see of any particular interest...not a soul seemed to be present...at least that's what Roxas thought until he heard the malicious shreak of the fiend that wasn't too far away.

He rushed in the direction of the sound, summoning both keyblades as quickly as possible.

It didn't take long before he was directly behind the beast...and there was Xion!...his heart thumped rapidly inside of his chest cavity...at least it would have it were to have a heart...yet he felt the adrenaline pumping under his cold Nobody skin...what was this thing? Why was it here?...where did all the heartless come from?

Xion Drew back into her battle position her keyblade tight at hand looking around quickly being surrounded by heartless. She swatted a few away from her and looked back up a the dark Figure angrily Before being over takes by Heartless, They swarmed her pushing her off her feet and onto the ground, She help her Keyblade in front of her to defend her self to get on her feet.

It was no use. The Heartless has swarmed on her keeping her burred in darkness, She shoves her was through and out again. Knocking the lesser Heartless off her determinedly.


" It's going to take way more than that to keep Me down! " Xion spat.

Heartless began to overtake the castle, swarming the darkened hallways mercilessly...Roxas knew of only one thing to do...run away screaming, yet he wouldn't allow himself to tuck tail and rush off, not while Xion was still there fighting.

He hesitated for a breif moment before he gripped his two keyblades tightly in his hands...the nobody exhaled lightly, he tried to calm himself, but it wasn't working. This situation seemed hopeless. Never had he seen so many fiends gathered in one place before.

"Bring it on..." he growled as he began to slash his blades at the Shadow Heartless who seemed to be less than affected by his hacking.

(I know, it's short, it sucks, and I haven't replied in two days. I'm sorry Xi. SHADE! Get your tail in here!)

Her eyes narrowed with silent confusion by this stranger's words. Beast's lair? No matter the details of such a claim, it couldn't mean a good thing. So for now, Shade kept silent while watching the figure slowly depart. Since he was her only clue to this mysterious place, and possibly getting out of it, she decided to follow him, but from a great distance to observe him closely before deciding if he were friend or foe.

It wasn't difficult to keep to the shadows in such a dark and dreary place, and her footfalls avoided any step that his own caused the floor to creak. He appeared to be searching for something, or someone, and Shade wasn't about to distract the stranger's search until she knew for sure what the hell was going on. Yet the sudden outburst echoing through the halls pretty much answered quite a bit. They were definitely not alone in this place, and accompanied by something that obviously didn't approve of intruders. Shade bolted toward the source of noise, behind the cloaked figure who decided to do the same until they both came upon a scene Shade found rather disturbing.

What in hell were these things!? Her battle trained mind instinctively kicked into gear, just as her wandering companion dove straight into the fray. Perhaps he knew of these creatures enough to strike immediately into whatever weakness they had, but Shade had never come across any form of fiends like this. Within seconds, her crossbow weapon ignited with it's faint turbo whine and the steel arrows locked into position of the prod as her eyes swiftly scanned over the scene. There... she heard it... another voice proving they weren't the only ones getting attacked. She charged in behind the cloaked figure to see him struggle against these foul creatures and with precise aim, fired the multiple arrows directly into the heads of these chaotic fiends.

As her weapon automatically reloaded, Shade's free hand began to glow with her conjuring magic. Defeating these creatures wasn't her concern. Just getting out alive was the important thing. Just before her spell came to full strength, she turned her head back to the one she followed here and shouted her intentions. "I'll distract them as best I can! You get to the one who needs help over there and we regroup!" Her right arm aimed for the creatures attacking him and fired the steel arrows once again to buy him the seconds he would need to break away and reach the other stranger being attacked.

Her left hand now released the empowering spell that began with raging winds slamming against the swarm of fiends to bring their smaller forms against the larger one. Once the Gryphon released it's final arrow, Shade raised her right hand for the completion of the spell with gusts of water into the slashing winds. Her concentration centered on control to the spells' direction, keeping it as far from her unknown companion where ever he would run. The small tornado whipped against any fiend that tried to reach him to at least thwart off their attempts to reach him, if not damage them in the process.

Xion sprung back onto her feet after being overtakes by heartless , there was no way she be able to Shove off all the heartless alone, but there was no way in hell she was going to let them get her down. Valiantly raising her keyblade again she knocked two heartless out of her path and rushed forward knocking as many back as she could manage. (Which wasn't many to begin with). Panting in exhaustion , The young Nobody had almost given In before seeing Shades attack.

"T-There's too many....""
