New suggestion.

In light of the post count rule, I suggest you guys start up the points system. Its a much fairer way of doing that same type of deal, without adding spam to them.

For Example: I have 49 posts. How many of those are spam (ie. Chatroom, user info, away, introduction) and how many of those are actual posts remain to be seen.

By activating the point system, you can pick and choose which forums allow points, and which ones dont (ie. All roleploy sections allow 1 point to be gained, however user info, etc, etc, etc, etc dont allow points). By doing so, we dont have someone like me *points at oneself*, for example, getting dual wielding as a result of mad posting in non-rp topics.

(note: That is just an example.)

This suggestion is already in discussion and has been for quite some time, we just aren't sure of the extent that we will have to go through if we do in fact decide to go to the point system.

It would help out, but we are still contimplating on what all we need to do. We'll make the proper updates as time goes on.

Okay, here's the situation.

I currently HAVE the Points system in effect on the Sister Site of Spirits of the Crystals, but it causes a great deal of confusion because the majority of the players we have or likely will have are used to a Posts system. That's what is used on MOST of the Sites that we have all been on.

In fact, Spirits of the Crystals is the first one for any of us that didn't use straight posts and it has caused problems already with presumption of level-ups that had not yet been earned.

Not to mention the fact that the progression tables are stacked in favor of including a fair amount of OOC chatter.

To change to a Points system would require either completely leveling the Site and starting over from the beginning OR laboriously adding up the RP posts of all the current players and recalculating their points based on JUST that, because it's not just 1 point per post, it's 1 point per reply, 3 points per thread opening.

So yeah.

The decision has been made that trying to change the foundation of the site that much would be too chaotic to implement effectively and still maintain the player base that we have.

What we will do, though, is clear out some of the more obvious spam-threads from the Chatroom so that they don't unfairly add to post counts and generally clean up some of the excess.

But not all of it.

We are here to have fun, first and foremost. And sometimes teasing each other through completely random comments can be fun.
