Site Changes

Alright, I'm thinking the site might need a little revamping.

I'm gonna need someone to work on a new banner, with ONLY Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy characters. Mario was cool but for only about a day, after that it just leaves me thinking, "what the heck???"...

Do you guys have any opinions on anything else that needs to change around here appearance wise?

Well, that depends. Do you wanna play with Crystals and Moogles and Chocobos?

A while back I built some icons and things for Final Fantasy using some stuff I found. Lemme show ya.







If I could find similarly small images and had a decent color scheme to work with, I could build something similar. I went with the tan and purple because the tan looked more like parchment and wasn't as harsh on the eyes as Black or White would be and I just happen to like purple, though I suppose Green could be just as easily used, or some other color like Red.

I actually like your icons. I want the site to be different than the other two thousand Kingdom Hearts sites I've seen. I love the pictures that we have up on the Worlds, that's unique, we need to keep making it different and that could possibly attract members.

I don't know how to do banners, but I MIGHT know someone who can fiddle around and maybe make one. Do I need to know like size limits and whatever the pixel pixie doo dad thingies are?

Anyway, I was looking into some pictures for starters and this one really stood out to me. You can go with just about any color for a background and effects with this.






If this isn't what you had in mind, don't hold back! I love looking this stuff up I can even make thread up with various choices for members to vote on if you want ^^

Well, I did a bit of surfing through the Kingdom Hearts Wiki and found a few pictures. I'm probably going to go running through Photobucket later to try to find some more options.

I captured a bunch of pictures of some Keyblades and a few other assorted things, including the Thalassa shells that recur in the series, though I wish I had a better picture of the shells.

It's a matter of finding the right ones and enough variation to make icons.

I might go with a Red/Green/Blue sorta scheme to match Sora's Forms. *chuckle* Though I really don't know.

I'll see what I can come up with.

I'm liking this brainstorming thing we have going on here...alright, the picture is great Shade, but here's what I'm looking for.

I want a banner with Roxas, Kairi, Sora, Namine, Xion, and Riku in it. Something of EPIC proportions.

Okay, so far what I've got is this.







I think the bottom four are utterly adorable and cute for the Thread Icons. The Star Fragments are probably best suited for the Forum Icons, but I don't know. I might use some Character Sprites.

Alright, this is the only image I could find close to what all you requested. Now I know Riku and Namine are missing from the image, but with the set up of this picture, I would think pictures of those two could easily be cropped in without it looking obviously so.

Xion's rather difficult to find without being in pics with the Organization, or without Axel 0.-

But here it is and if you'd like to swing with it, I can check with my friend about editing in Riku and Namine.











*blink* aw, crap, okay, so Sora's missing too >< OKAY!!! Take out the blue haired chic and add the others?

*chuckle* I think what he's looking for is going to require someone with a great deal of picture editing skill going through with similar-source pictures and creating something. But I really don't know.

In other news . . .



Not all of them show up in the lineup at the same time, Log In is only there if you aren't logged in, as is Register. So the Alts are really Register, New PM, and Log In.

Edit: *sigh* The color's different between that one and the ones I built before!! CRIMINENTLY!!!! Gosh darn it, why couldn't Hubbybear have left my Paint program alone???

Edit Again: Well, got the images changed so that they're the brighter tan color that I like better from the old Paint program. It's just a load of confusion to get that particular shade again since I have to Open an old file, capture the color, Edit Colors to add it as a Custom Color and then open a new file so that I can use it. *sigh* And I'll have to do that every time I open Paint. *SIGH*

Anyway, whaddya think?

Okay, double post to make sure people know that this thread is still here.

I went ahead and made some changes. After much confusion and headache we finally got things working mostly okay. Now, I'm looking for some feedback.

I'm looking at going with a predominantly Three Primary Colors concept, since the Trinity is big in KH. That'd be Red, Yellow, Blue. It also means that I need to fix some of my icons and stuff, but that's not a problem.

Does anyone have any comments about how things are working out?

Well, I'm messing with color for the time being, trying to find a blend of the primaries that doesn't blind your eyes for long periods of time. *sigh*

Maybe a softer yellow and a darker blue in reverse? *sigh*

a darker blue would be nice. But none the less it looks amazing. You really know your stuff.

Problem is that I don't want to go too dark on the blue because then I'll have to switch to a white type instead of this black because black doesn't show up well on darker colors.

And my personal aesthetics want a dark type on a lighter background.

Colors are relatively easy to twitch around, it's just *finding* the right shade on their unknown madness of a palette. *sigh*

I might switch the yellow I'm using with the blue so that it goes yellow-blue-red from inside to out. I don't know yet.

I understand what you mean. I didn't know you could do different colors like this, but I really like it, it's different and unique, that's what we're going for here. I want us to be different than every other kingdom hearts site out there. And from what I've seen, we definitely are! in a good way of course!

Let me make one thing ABUNDANTLY clear.

I don't have Photoshop. I don't have GIMP. I have Paint. Stupid, ignorant, annoying Paint. I did this mostly by hand. I STILL couldn't get Sora into it. I don't have a good shot of him in that style just standing.

But what do you think?

Grizz...wow...that's it, that is the perfect picture right there! I am in love with it. My jaw literally dropped open when I first saw it. It's amazing, that is what I want the site banner to be. Wow...Grizz, you are awesome!!!

It's a bit . . . purple for a banner pic for here, unless I move away from the red/blue/yellow, but I'm working on a version where I'm trying to fuzz out the white remnants of the "halo" effect from the pics I cobbled together for it.

It's actually a bit small, but I had to size the group to fit the pic of Roxas and Xion with the crossed Keyblades that I had because it was so small to begin with. The others started out as much larger pictures.

Fair warning, I recently located the pic of Sora that I wanted to use, so I'll probably be making another attempt at it. But it requires getting images with transparent backgrounds to use . . . and that's a time consuming process.

You wouldn't BELIEVE what I had to do in order to get *that* much.
